About the event
The Names by Florence Knapp is a 2025 "sliding doors" debut novel. Set in 1987 after a massive storm, it follows Cora, a young mother trapped in an abusive marriage, as she goes to register her newborn son's birth. Pressured to name him Gordon after his domineering father, Cora hesitates, and the story splits into three alternate 35-year timelines based on the name she chooses.
